The Inimitable
Mister Moo
Adam Moskowitz (“Mister Moo”) is a larger-than-life force in the artisan cheese world. Part businessman, part performer he the man who has transformed cheesemongering into something closer to a sport and a must-see show.
While the “Mister Moo” persona may seem playful, those within and around the industry recognize the very real impact behind it. Moskowitz hasn’t just promoted cheese—he has reshaped and modernized (“modded”) the entire culture around it. He elevated the role of the cheesemonger from behind-the-counter worker to respected expert and competitor, connected small producers with broader audiences, and made cheese education more engaging and accessible. He also founded one of the specialty food world’s most important events, turning a niche craft into a global stage.
Before Mister Moo, cheesemongers largely operated out of the spotlight. Moskowitz changed that by making artisan cheese feel relevant, exciting, and even cool. Through competitions, storytelling, and community-building, he gave cheesemongers a platform, an identity, and a sense of pride in their craft. His influence has extended internationally as well—leading Team USA to gold and bronze at the Mondial du Fromage Cheesemonger Awards.
After appearing in The Big Cheese, which spotlighted his larger-than-life personality and mission to energize the industry, Moskowitz has continued pushing things forward with “A Cheese Course.” This initiative expands his impact into education, offering structured, accessible training designed to develop the next generation of cheesemongers while further modernizing how cheese knowledge is shared and experienced.
